I’m Alastair, the owner and operator of Under One Roof, and I personally carry out every building, pest, and pool inspection.
There are no subcontractors, no junior inspectors, and no guesswork, just one experienced professional taking responsibility for your property from start to finish.

With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, combined with years spent working as a licensed pest technician alongside some of the most respected pest professionals in Queensland, I bring a level of insight that most inspectors simply don’t have.

Many pest technicians only understand pests.

Very few have done both.

My career began in construction, where I learned how homes are built, repaired, and maintained, from foundations and framing through to finishes.
I later spent years working hands-on in pest management, learning how termites and timber pests behave, how infestations develop, and how damage really occurs behind walls and under floors.

That combination gives me a unique advantage:

  • I understand why a defect exists, not just that it does

  • I can identify structural risks other inspectors may overlook

  • I know the difference between cosmetic issues and serious problems

  • I can assess both building condition and pest risk accurately, in one visit
